Okay, slowly but surely getting this LJ thing down.

This week's topic: Icons! So far, just playing with things that I found on my hard drive. (Hence the previous preponderance of moose. Though I've always rather preferred "meese". At least, those who are not Attorneys General.)

I felt bad that all the little mooses disappeared, so here's one last moose for old times' sake.

Mooses come walking up over the hill
Mooses come walking, they rarely stand still
When mooses come walking, they walk where they will
And mooses come walking up over the hill.

Mooses look into your window at night,
They look to the left and they look to the right.
The mooses are smiling; they think it's a zoo
And that's why the mooses like looking at you.

So, if you see mooses while lying in bed
It's best just to lay there pretending you're dead.
The mooses will leave and you'll get the thrill
Of seeing the mooses go over the hill

--Arlo Guthrie

I love that poem a whole lot. And there's a children's book of it, which is actually illustrated by Alice. (Remember Alice? It's a song about Alice...) Anyone who knows that reference...is either a bigger folkie than me or older than me. And if you're older than me, chances are you're not on LJ. *g* Anyway, it's a cool book and a cool poem.

Go you mooses!

Yours in antlers,

I feel the sudden need to make a disclosure: somewhere in Washington, enshrined in a little folder, is a study in black and white of my fingerprints.

Just thought you should know. *g*

I love you so much right now.

What we're doing is, we're just waiting for it to come around on the guitar...

Awww moose! He I know a funny story that happened to a man from Chile and a moose here in Sweden. Then there are this traffic signs telling people to watch out for this huge beasts, and german tourists stealing then cause is a novelty.

No no no, you can't stop there.

So there was this man in Chile and a moose in Sweden, and...??

Because that? Will bother me until I know the punchline.

I don't think we have mooses in the netherlands. Well, maybe in the zoo. Mooses stand for christmas to me. Heh. And that's kinda weird, because we don't have Santa here, either.

This would be the only vaguely Christmas related icon I have so far.

But you have St. Nicholas, right? And he leaves gifts in the little wooden shoes?

Hahaha! Well, if we *were* wearing wooden shoes, he'd leave those presents in those, but since most of us wear more regular footwear, he deals with boots mostly. You see, boots are big. Lots of room for presents, hahaha!
